Stressed out?

In my 13 years as a personal trainer, people walk into a session either stressed out or at a bottom in their lives, at a bottom with weight loss or in their personal lives outside of physical fitness.

I have never heard a client say “I feel terrible,” or “I am more stressed out,” after a training session, In fact after getting in a great workout my clients tell me that they feel so much better. Studies have proven over and over, that when we elevate our heart rate and work our muscles we feel better, we are creating brain function and detoxing and so much more.

I know it takes a lot of work to get in the door, get out of that comfort zone, hitting a bottom is vulnerable, that’s why I like to create an atmosphere that says, “come as you are” I will meet you where ever you’re at.

We gotta want it, to make change happen. It also needs to be when you are ready, otherwise it will be that roller coaster ride of dieting and beating yourself up for gaining weight, losing weight, gaining weight. (Be kind to yourself.)

In my nine years as a personal trainer I know this.  I truly believe it, and this client, I’ll call her Jane, is such a great example of making change happen in her life to get the results she wanted. I am excited to spotlight my client Jane in 2015, KEEPING OFF 115 pounds!

Jane has been with me for five years now, and I am so proud of her and her dedication to keeping off 115 pounds! The biggest change in her journey with me has been her nutrition, cutting out flour and sugar. Some of us don’t work out every day or even once a week, therefore, nutritional choices are critical. What has transformed Jane is her nutritional choices and working out with me for five years.

This week when Jane and I were training, I was asking her about the journey she has been on with Ace Morgan Fitness. I was trying to get an idea of what is still working for her.  She said: “Working out today really keeps me in my body.” I really see Jane in her body today. As a personal trainer I am helping my clients to connect; mind, body, and spirit.

I love to see the confidence and postural changes in my clients, it’s one of the most rewarding experiences. Seeing clients walk into room and truly own it, chin high and shoulders back. I can see the progression from the first intake with that client to their stellar presence today.IMG_9798

I’m looking forward to showing up for my clients, being a witness, and their personal trainer in 2015.

New Gold Star

Hello Everyone.

I have a new gold star.

In six weeks she has lost;

4 1/2 inches in her belly
3 1/4 inches in her hips
3 1/2 inches in her chest
3/4 inches on her thigh

4% body fat

3 pounds weight loss


How did this happen?

keeping a food log, cutting out sugar and gluten, wheat.

A lifestyle change.

She has stopped drinking diet soda, replaced it with lemon water.
eating less fruit, one or two pieces a day, more cooked veggies, eating every two or three hours.

Undo-ing old eating habits takes work. a lot of work.

It is hard to change your eating habits when the rest of the world is eating the same way we used to eat, and every time we go out to eat we are getting served all the things we are trying to stop eating, gluten, sugar, wheat.

Sugar, gluten, wheat, these three things alone, if you cut them out of your diet you will decrease inflammation in your body, also adding HEALTHY FATS! insulin levels will begin to even out, we are only meant to have a teaspoon of sugar in our blood stream.

I am so proud! here is to a longer life.

You know who you are! Congratulations.
