Stressed out?

11 Nov

In my 13 years as a personal trainer, people walk into a session either stressed out or at a bottom in their lives, at a bottom with weight loss or in their personal lives outside of physical fitness.

I have never heard a client say “I feel terrible,” or “I am more stressed out,” after a training session, In fact after getting in a great workout my clients tell me that they feel so much better. Studies have proven over and over, that when we elevate our heart rate and work our muscles we feel better, we are creating brain function and detoxing and so much more.

I know it takes a lot of work to get in the door, get out of that comfort zone, hitting a bottom is vulnerable, that’s why I like to create an atmosphere that says, “come as you are” I will meet you where ever you’re at.

Ask me about my complementary intake.

Gold star client!

2 Jul

Name of client Q.

Today is one year of working with this gold star. We have been in the parks and the gym. This journey began June 28th 2012.

During our intake the goals Q laid out in front of me were: “I want to feel better and have more energy”. I said, “no problem” I always say: ” this can happen, if you wanted to grow a third arm, not my department, move better and feel great? I got this”. And Q said “by my birthday on July 2nd 2013 I want to be in the best shape!”

Q’s background: lots of strength training, power lifting, heavy dead lifts, vary strong! The strength was there. Q was and has been motivated, every workout showing up 110%.
The nutrition was the biggest shift right away, cutting out diet soda and drinking water, cutting out gluten, or all things white.

We did measurements right away!
The homework I always give is keep a nutrition log. Q brought nutrition log every time we trained and so I had a detailed food log to look at and give feedback. Doing a daily food log you will see results quickly. this way we can see the times of day you are eating. Q was also training outside of our workouts.

I am so proud! I love to see my clients having more energy and moving in the world so different; posture improving you name it.

You got this Q!
Have the best birthday!

Food Shopping with a client.

5 Dec

Hello Everyone,

I went shopping with a client last week at my favorite grocery store, Berkeley Bowl.
I felt like I one a shopping spree, fill your cart with as much stuff as you can in a certin amount of time. So fun.
We had a great time. We went over food that he does not like before we shopped and then I went to town, filling up his cart with meat, veggies, fruit.
I would say it was a 85% paleo.

After we were done shopping I put together ideas for all of the food we bought, a menu of sorts and ideas on how to cook the food, we get stuck cooking the same food over and over again, its nice to give clients a new and healthier menu to work with. We are what we eat.

Ask me about taking you shopping.

Are you NOT getting results?

Like I always say nutrition is 85% of the battle.
I will sit and go over your nutrition and what you have been eating, you will start a food log ASAP.

We need to find out why your not getting the results you want.
Remember food can cause inflammation in the body and just weigh you down.

Thank You
