Stressed out?

11 Nov

In my 13 years as a personal trainer, people walk into a session either stressed out or at a bottom in their lives, at a bottom with weight loss or in their personal lives outside of physical fitness.

I have never heard a client say “I feel terrible,” or “I am more stressed out,” after a training session, In fact after getting in a great workout my clients tell me that they feel so much better. Studies have proven over and over, that when we elevate our heart rate and work our muscles we feel better, we are creating brain function and detoxing and so much more.

I know it takes a lot of work to get in the door, get out of that comfort zone, hitting a bottom is vulnerable, that’s why I like to create an atmosphere that says, “come as you are” I will meet you where ever you’re at.

Ask me about my complementary intake.

Bone broth – Seven reasons

4 Aug

Seven reasons to make it, drink it and feel better from it, Bone broth.

It is so cheap and easy to make.

# 1 reduces joint pain – this is because of the chondroitin sulphates, glucosamine, boiled down from the cartilage.

# 2 Helps inflammation – Amino acids such as glycine, proline, and arginine all have anti-inflammatory effects. Glycine also has calming effects which help you sleep better.

# 3 Promotes strong, healthy bones – There are high amounts of calcium, magnesium, and other nutrients that play a big role in bone formation.

# 4 Helps fight colds and flu viruses.

# 5 Helps digestion – Leaky gut.

# 6 Easy to make

# 7 Healthier than buying supplements

Here are some photos of my process and the recipe.

Here are the bones 31/2 pounds, put in a crock pot

Pour a table spoon or two on the bones, it helps pull out the nutrients.

Fill the crock pot up with water.

Get out this weekend, have fun.

16 May

IMG_0392Back CameraBack CameranutritionWhat weather we are having here in the Bay Area! get out and enjoy yourself.

Swim, bike, run, gym, row, walk, hike, urban hike. Rememer when we are taking a brisk walk your burning 3-5 calories a minute and its a lot less stress on the joints.

Your heart is a muscle and it needs to get worked, not just emotinlaly but pumping that thing!
Go get yours!

As I always say, “get that great nutrition as well, think of your food as fuel, keep it clean, organic, grass fed, your worth it, nobody needs all of those chemicals, think of your body as a bentley, we would only put the best gasoline in that car, think of your body the same, treat it well.”

have a great weekend.

Today’s 10 FREE tips of fitness.

4 Nov

today’s 10 tips of free fitness

November fourth 2013!

1.) Drink water first thing in the morning. We get so dehydrated at night. when we get up, most of us put coffee in our system first thing, try water then coffee.

2.) How is your breakfast? Get your healthy fats and veggies in there. Eat the whole egg. That yolk is good for your brain.

3.) what’s your motivator? A workout buddy? A music mix? An app? Find something that will get you motivated, that could be setting a goal for either numbers/ measurements for your body or numbers on any cardio machines or how much weight your lifting, how many pull ups or push ups you can do? Keep a log.

4.) Make gratitude list. Things your grateful for, it helps set the tone for the day or before bed.

5.) Only we, you, or I can really can change the way we think. Look in the mirror and say ” I am great, I am doing a good job”

6.) Are you tired of hearing yourself say the same thing over and over? Remember we effect everyone around us, responsibility.

7.) GRASS FED BEEF, GRASS FED BEEF, GRASS FED BEEF, GRASS FED BEEF, GRASS FED BEEF!

8.) Keep working on your rotator cuff muscles, they need to get strong before we can get in heavy chest, also improves posture! Keep it light. This is what I like to call a pre-hab thing.

9.) batch cook, get at least a pond and a half of all,of your meats, stock your freezer, this way you will, have enough for a few meals. Save money at lunch.

10.) NEVER GIVE UP!
